Contact Tracing: something new or has it been around for a while?
Since the beginning of COVID-19, there has been a surge of new companies emerging to help businesses with contact tracing services, whether it’s wearable technology or mobile apps. While contact tracing may have become one of the most discussed topics of 2020, the technology behind it isn’t new at all. In fact, we have been successfully providing it to clients for 5 years.
You may wonder, “How is that possible?”
Safeteams, our contact tracing and social distancing solution, is actually the brainchild of ESKI Inc., an events technology company which has been around for over 10 years.
“What do events and contact tracing have in common?
ESKI Inc., at its core, is all about creating togetherness. We specialize in bringing people together using wearable technology for events. One of our solutions is called klik, which leverages smart Bluetooth-powered badges for attendees to exchange contacts at some of the most popular conferences in the world and provide real-time data on their behaviour and sessions attended.
In the last 5 years, we have provided klik solutions to over 100,000 attendees in partnership with MIT, the World Scout Jamboree and some of the most well-known companies in the world.
We repurposed the Bluetooth Low Energy technology to power our Safeteams clips in order to provide contact tracing and social distancing visual cues to our clients. Just like what we offer at events, our Safeteams clips provide data on employee location and who they have been in contact with to mitigate the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak.
In the last few months, we have been perfecting our technology and making it even simpler for our clients to deploy themselves so that they can view immediate reports and respond quickly and efficiently when necessary. Our goal remains the same: to bring people together with health and safety as a top priority.
